Bristol Legible City is a unique concept to improve people’s understanding and experience of the city through the implementation of identity, information and transportation projects.
Bristol Legible City is a key project within the City Council’s Public Art Policy and Strategy. With support from Adshel, Bristol City Council commissions artists to work alongside other professionals to realise projects that investigate and reinforce place and neighbourhood identity, and assist orientation and way finding during the day, and at night. Commissions are developed in response to the city’s urban regeneration areas, focusing on landmark buildings, streets and open spaces, key pedestrian routes, cycle ways and the public transport system.
