This fascinating boat tour will begin with a boat trip from Arnolfini to the Sand Martin Colony on the Feeder Canal, followed by a visit to the Floating Ballast Seed Garden for a tour and book launch. Tour host Tue Greenfort will talk about the genesis of the roost, the expansion of the Sand Martin colony, ecology and his wider practice.


Meet and hear from artist Tue Greenfort about his recent project for Bristol which involved the creation of a roost to encourage the growth of a small Sand Martin colony on Bristol's Feeder Canal.

The event will look at Tue’s project in the context of wider public art works exploring local habitats and ecologies, such as the Floating Ballast Seed Garden.

Steven Claydon’s work brings together objects recalling historical artefacts, cultural ephemera and geological samples, skillfully mixing different cultures and periods of history. Merging reality with fiction, and appearing at once meaningful and useless, Claydon’s works oscillate between an idea of truth and fantasy, seeming to offer a fragmented image of a future civilisation’s past. He will talk about his practice and new commission in Bristol.
