Synopsis
Library of Ideas is a permanent artwork intervention in the foyer of the Junction 3 library building, created by artists Davis & Jones between 2010 and 2012. The artwork consists of an installation of objects donated to the artists by the people living in the area around Junction 3.
During the building of Junction 3, Davis and Jones met with residents and construction workers and collected these objects and the stories behind them during their Public Engagement Programme.
Davis & Jones collaborated with Gitta Geschwendtner to realise the installation which groups the objects into clusters reflecting the character and forming a portrait of the rich community of the neighbourhood surrounding Junction 3. The collection of everyday and unusual objects is accompanied by a publication, designed by Jono Lewarne, telling the story of each object.
